Part A. Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Compountier (the “Service”) is an intelligence platform operated by Compountier (“Compountier,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). The Service distills podcasts, research papers, product changelogs, articles, and curated knowledge into cited intelligence records (which we call kernels), and synthesizes what they mean for people building AI products. These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you and Compountier. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your country if higher, to use the Service.
• You can sign in with Google, an email magic link, or an email and password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. What the Service does

Compountier lets you read a standing strategic brief, browse and search intelligence kernels, explore topics, review research-paper analyses, and ask questions or request tailored summaries of the material. Some features send your questions or requests to third-party AI models to generate a response in real time (see the Privacy Policy, section on AI processing). You may also save kernels and, where enabled, connect programmatic access through our Connect / MCP surface.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to break any law or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without authorization.
• Scrape, bulk-export, resell, or redistribute the corpus or generated output in a way that competes with the Service or violates the rights of the underlying source authors.
• Upload or submit content that is unlawful, malicious, or that you do not have the right to submit.
• Interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service, or circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or feature flags.

5. Your content

“Your Content” means the material you create or submit through the Service, such as saved kernels, questions you ask, tailored briefs you keep, and any notes. You keep ownership of Your Content. You grant Compountier a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights necessary to submit it.

6. The intelligence corpus and third-party sources

Kernels are derived from third-party sources, including publicly available videos, articles, research papers, and product release notes. Those sources remain the property of their respective owners, and kernels include citations back to them. We provide analysis and synthesis for informational purposes. We do not claim ownership of the underlying source material, and your use of any source content must respect that source’s own terms and applicable law.

Our aim is to be transformative: kernels capture the facts and ideas in a source and add our own analysis, classification, and synthesis, rather than reproduce a source in full. We keep any direct quotation short, attribute it, and link back to the original so the Service points readers to the source instead of replacing it. Facts and ideas themselves are not owned by anyone; the expression in each source belongs to its author.

7. Reporting content and takedown requests

We respect the rights of source authors and creators. If you are a rights holder (or their agent) and believe a kernel or citation reproduces your work improperly, or you would prefer your content not be included, you can ask us to remove or amend it. In your request, identify the specific material and the source, and tell us the change you are asking for. We review good-faith requests promptly and will remove or amend material where appropriate. Because we do not have a public contact channel live yet, a way to submit these requests is coming soon and will be published on this page; until then we act on any request that reaches us through the Service.

8. AI-generated output: no warranty, not professional advice

Parts of the Service are generated by automated language models. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and may misattribute or misstate a source. You should independently verify anything you rely on. The Service is provided for informational purposes only and is not legal, financial, investment, or other professional advice. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on the Service.

9. Intellectual property

Compountier owns the Service itself: its software, design, brand, taxonomy, and our original analysis, commentary, and synthesis, together with the selection, structuring, and arrangement of the corpus (a compilation), to the extent these are protectable. We do not own, and do not claim to own, the underlying facts or the works of the original source authors. A kernel expresses our analysis of a source; the facts it describes are not proprietary to anyone, and the source material remains the property of its owner (see section 6). Except for the rights expressly granted to you here, we reserve all rights in the parts of the Service we own. You may not copy, modify, resell, or create derivative works of those parts except as permitted by these terms or applicable law.

10. Availability, changes, and beta features

The Service is under active development and some features ship behind flags or as beta functionality. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes where practical.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) continue to apply.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compountier will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Compountier’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to resolve disputes in the courts located there, unless applicable mandatory law provides otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Part B. Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Compountier collects when you use it, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Compountier application and related pages operated by Compountier.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address, and if you use Google sign-in, basic profile details Google provides (such as your name and Google account identifier). If you use a password, we store it only in salted, hashed form through our authentication provider.
• Content you create. Kernels you save, questions you ask, tailored briefs you keep, and similar items you generate in the Service, along with the timestamps and associations needed to show them back to you.
• Usage and product analytics. How you interact with the Service, such as pages viewed, features used, and events like searches or asks. We use these to understand and improve the product.
• Technical and log data. Information your device and browser send automatically, such as IP address, browser and device type, approximate location inferred from IP, and diagnostic or error data used to keep the Service running.
• Cookies and local storage. Small identifiers used to keep you signed in, remember preferences (for example your light or dark theme), and measure product usage.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of sensitive personal data, and we ask that you not submit them through the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
• To generate responses and synthesis when you use AI-powered features such as Ask and Tailor.
• To personalize what you see, such as returning your saved items and kept tailored briefs.
• To understand usage, debug problems, and improve features and reliability.
• To communicate with you about your account, security, and material changes to the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations and to enforce our terms.

3. AI processing and third-party model providers

Some features send the text of your request (for example a question you type or a summary you ask us to reshape), together with the relevant corpus material, to third-party AI model providers so they can generate a response. These providers process the request on our behalf to return output to you. We do not use these features to have providers train their public models on Your Content, and we send only what is needed to produce your result. AI output may be inaccurate; see the Terms, section on AI-generated output.

4. Service providers we rely on

We share information with a small set of service providers (subprocessors) that operate the Service on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us. These include:

• Supabase, for authentication and database hosting (account and content storage).
• PostHog, for product analytics.
• Sentry, for error monitoring and diagnostics.
• Google, for optional Google sign-in and for AI model processing.
• Anthropic, for AI model processing.
• Cloud hosting providers that run our application and backend infrastructure.

The specific providers may change as the Service evolves. We update this policy when we make material changes to who processes your data.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. Beyond the service providers above, we share information only: with your consent or at your direction; to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request; to protect the rights, safety, and security of Compountier, our users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will continue to protect your information and notify you of any change in control of your data.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure product usage through analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling some may affect how the Service works (for example, staying signed in).

7. Data retention

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We retain some information longer where required for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level data isolation between accounts. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to incidents.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:

• Access and update much of your information directly in the Service.
• Delete your account, which removes your associated personal data as described above.
• Reach out to us to make a request or ask a question. A dedicated contact channel is coming soon and will be published on this page; until then you can reach us through the Service. We will respond as required by applicable law.

10. International data transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including where data protection laws differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
